The Standard Nine
The Standard Nine is our comprehensive player development program, included for every athlete on every 9 Tool National team.
A Complete Approach to Player Development
The Standard Nine reflects our view of the complete player. The tools in this guide support several of these standards, while practices, coaching and physical training address the wider demands of the game.

The 9 Tool Difference
Every 9 Tool National player will have access to a set of development tools selected to support work on the field and learning between practices. Each tool has a specific purpose, from understanding a swing to practicing decisions and keeping a record of progress. This guide explains what those tools do, how players and families can use them, and why we consider them an important part of The Standard Nine.
Our Purpose
We want players to understand what they are working on and why it matters. A clear training focus gives practice a purpose. A record of that work helps families see the development process beyond the results of a single game.
The Areas of Support
• Swing measurement • Swing video analysis • Integrated skills and performance training • Pitching video analysis • Strength Training drills • Speed and Motion Drills • Visual skills training • Baseball IQ • Records of player metrics, data & videos. Our coaches connect these resources to baseball instruction. Players build the habits that make the resources useful.
Why We Use Specialized Tools
A swing measurement, a video review and a situational question provide different kinds of feedback. Our integrated training platform covers several areas, while specialist tools add focused practice. Coaches help players use overlapping feedback to choose a clear training priority. The development record brings selected information together so that useful work can inform the next training focus. The goal is a manageable routine that connects to the field.
